KashfLens is a sensor exploration tool that lets you visualize data from your iPhone's built-in sensors. It reads magnetic field intensity, analyzes sound frequencies, and inspects surface textures - all processed on-device. It is an educational tool for exploring how your phone's hardware responds to different environments.
No. KashfLens works 100% offline. All processing happens on your device. No data is ever sent to any server.
KashfLens requires an iPhone with a magnetometer sensor (iPhone 3GS and later). For best results, we recommend iPhone 12 or newer models.
Hold your iPhone near a surface with the microphone facing it. Tap gently on the surface with your other hand. The app will process the audio through FFT and display a real-time frequency spectrum showing the acoustic characteristics of the material.
The magnetometer displays magnetic field strength in microteslas (uT). Values vary depending on what materials are nearby and the local magnetic environment. Higher readings indicate stronger magnetic fields. You can compare readings from different locations to observe how the field changes.
KashfLens displays the raw values from your iPhone's hardware sensors. Accuracy depends on your device model, calibration state, and environmental conditions. The app is an educational exploration tool - not a professional measurement instrument.
If your readings seem inconsistent, try the standard iPhone compass calibration: move your device in a figure-8 pattern. You can also recalibrate within the app by pressing the reset baseline button on the magnetometer screen.
